Irdina...

Alahai anak mama...

MOTHER’S DAY… and BIRTHDAY

12 May 2008

Yesterday was Mother’s Day
… or was it the day before yesterday? I am confused, as I received lots of messages on both days. As a new mother, I was really flattered, and felt really blessed with the gift, i.e. Irdina.

And today? Never been better… I did not have enough sleep as usual but I have mastered the game of waking up at night, nursing and sometimes, pumping milk for tomorrow’s supply. Everything has been nicely incorporated in my day-to-day routine. Coming to work late, like nearly every Monday… but today, I drove the Kancil… it has been a while since I drove a manual car, but I managed.

Work life has turn sour lately, sour and dull actually. I am busy with lots of invoices and change orders… but less traveling. I love to travel, especially to KL… at least lots of extra returns at the end of the month and less money spent to buy tickets… but its OK… I love what I am doing right now (meaning being an Executive cum MUM… and twice monthly… a WIFE).

21 May 2008

Today is my birthday
…32nd birthday to be exact. This is my first birthday as a mum… ermmm… a great accomplishment.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MAZLINA
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

I waited for my husband to great me last night, but to no avail… a nearly every-year occurance. He is not romantic? Ermmm… He’s quite romantic actually… but sleeping is his priority… ehehehe… He’ll forget about anything (everything) when he is sleeping. The volume of his handphone is as loud a volume can be… the sound of SAPE… but still, he could only hear the sound of his snore… ekekeke… (sori yang, ngutuk sikit). He greeted me this morning; at 7.45am… atleast he does not forget his wife’s birthday like some husbands (really, there are men who forget everything).

Irdina has regain her ‘happiness’ today… yesterday she was in bad mood. After nearly four days playing at home with mama and babah, suddenly she’s being sent to people’s house again… she’s confused I guessed. Another reason, she has not enough sleep to get her rouse and begin the day with smile as usual.

Seeing her face everyday is a pleasure that I could not describe verbally, or by written words. Irdina is my greatest birthday present… Thank you Allah…

High-heeled sandal… and more updates…

23/04/2008

Today, I am wearing high-heeled sandal for the first time after a year… Luckily, I preserved my pre-pregnancy shoes and sandals well enough that they still look as good…

Irdina is today 3 months and 12 days old… and she’s becoming more mobile. She turned herself last Thursday (17/04) while I was busy taking all her things in from the car… I was really surprised to see her ‘turned-turtle’ on the floor…

We went to see Dr. Cheah at about 7pm last night, complaining about Irdina’s blocked nose. She gave Irdina some medicine to clear the blockage. Alhamdulillah… So, last night was the first night after 2 weeks I slept like a baby (as if)… Irdina slept at around 9.30pm, woke up at 3am to breastfeed, slept again and woke up with a smile at 6.30am… She’s more cheerful now that she can breathe without difficulty, and she’s able to feed while I’m sitting down. All this while, she nursed while mama’s standing up… building muscle to mama’s arms, eh baby?

Irdina’s babah will be coming home tomorrow night. This weekend would be a hectic one, as my parents will also be coming from Kuching. Mama has never been so eager coming here… Irdina is soo lucky then…

I am not so busy as yesterday… my STC contract will expire 01/05/2008, and the new Regular Contract will take place the next day. I have not received anything from HR, but whatever it is, I have to come to work this Friday.

I thought of doing my ‘mama’s work’ at the pantry, but I have heard about a planned fire drill this morning. It would be a mess should the drill starts while I am still pumping.

09/05/2008

3 days ago my husband complained that I spent too much time with the baby, and have forgotten about lots of things, such as this blog. He also mentioned that he would read my blog whenever he misses me… but it has been more than a month since the last entry. Pity him. But more, pity me. How could I tell everybody that I am really exhausted? Not everybody could or would want to take care of a baby by herself, without anybody to relieve her when she goes to the toilet, or when she feels like she needs to take a nap. I sleep when the baby sleeps (after doing all the chores needed doing, take bath, call hubby, call mama and bla bla bla), and certainly will have to stay awake when she’s awake. I really do not have time to do blogs… here at work, I need to work, and frankly, I was quite busy last few weeks. I am not the kind that could sleep happily while leaving the baby playing alone… I have been waiting so long for Irdina… and I will treasure every second of the time I spend with her.

Eveytime Sepu comes back from KL, I will need to take care of two babies, and the chores would surely be doubled. But again, I love being with the two persons (out of seven) that I love the most. I do not want to complain… and still I am not complaining… I have nothing to complain actually. I still could have my sleep, and go to work, and have my salary at the end of the month… what I should complain is the pressure I have at work right now… ermmm… it’s a human factor actually… And sure, the stress is building up.

Sayang… sorry if you are feeling neglected. Give me time to adjust with this multiplication of responsibility. I have lots of things in my plate right now, and I have to get used to this situation fast… please be patient. I am getting good at what I am doing and I am sure that I will get better.
